The National Award of Honour and National Award of Recognition will be conferred at a special function held tomorrow evening at Dharubaaruge, on the occasion of this year’s Republic Day. President Mohamed Nasheed will present the awards to all the recipients.
Two individuals will be conferred the National Award of Honour. Thirteen individuals and one corporation will be conferred the National Award of Recognition. Both the individuals receiving the National Award of Honour have previously received the National Award of Recognition.
Recipients of National Award of Honour will receive a shield of honour, a badge, and a certificate, while the recipients of National Award of Recognition receive a commemorative plaque and a certificate.
The President will address the nation after the conferring of National Awards to the recipients. Minister of Home Affairs, Hassan Afeef will deliver the welcome remarks at the ceremony.
