President Reiterates Administration’s Adherence to Rule of Law

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has reiterated that this administration would adhere to a rule based, just governance system. The President made this statement while speaking to local media at a press conference organised by the Progressive Party of Maldives.

The President assured that this administration would uphold the rule of law and judiciary, while bringing in development to the country in accordance with policies accepted by the Maldivian people.

In his remarks, President Yameen pointed out that despite spreading false claims by some belonging to opposition views, that this administration was dishonest and unjust, they were unable to present any proof of their claims. He stated that all their remarks were baseless and fabricated.

Continuing in this regard, the President condemned the actions of those who were defaming the country on social media from abroad. He described those residing abroad and trying to destroy our beloved nation as traitorous. The President also urged to stop any action that may threaten national security, that were taken in the name of freedom.
